Loki is incredibly envious of Thor despite even having advantages over him. Ever since he was young everyone favored Thor over him, including his father Odin, who had gifted a powerful weapon to him in celebration, which Loki was so envious of, he sabotaged it to make the handle short, and on several occasions tried to make the weapon his own but to no avail. He feels he is the rightful heir to the throne of Asgard, wanting to rule over it instead of Thor and doing everything he can to prove he is the better choice, even if he has to destroy them to do it. This amount of enviousness seems to also cause some emotional spasms in his mind, easily getting angry when something does not go his way, or even when Thor gets praised, though he is capable of keeping it inside, he is known to have shouted at Odin before in anger, sometimes even crying at the mere hopelessness he seemed to have to become ruler of Asgard, but he would never give up.

Loki is also incredibly mischievous, using his spells to trick his opponents or even cheating his way into power. As a child he was infamous in his pranks and sneakiness, sabotaging weapons, artifacts, plenty, and never seeming to get caught for it despite everyone seeming to know it was him, except perhaps his brother, who knew Loki was a great liar, which he was, being able to talk people into just about anything, including talking Thor into going against Odin to fight the Frost Giants.

Loki is incredibly power hungry, doing just about anything to gain authority where he needs it, especially Asgard. While he continuously fails to obtain leadership over Asgard, this doesn't stop him from making plans to take it over all for the sake of wanting respect and the kingdom he was raised in. He doesn't seem to care how he goes about gaining power, whether it be making deals with the enemy, cheating, lying, murder, trickery, he will do anything to obtain power, Asgard being his top goal.

Loki also seems to be very narcissistic and considers himself to be above humans and other aliens. He would consider humans to be nothing but puny ants that are meant to be ruled by Gods such as himself. Showing no mercy towards those he considers lesser beings, he won't hesitate to kill anyone that stands against him.

Loki is one of several powerful beings from the magical realm of Asgard, who have been worshipped as gods. Odin, once the ruler of the Asgardian gods, led his subjects in a war against their enemy, the frost giants from the land of Jotunheim (one of the nine worlds of Asgard). Laufey, king of the frost giants, was slain in battle and the giants were defeated. Surveying the spoils of war, the Asgardians discovered a small Asgardian god-sized baby hidden at the giants' main fortress. The infant was Loki, whom Laufey had kept hidden due to his shame over his son's diminutive size. Odin remembered his father Bor’s dying words to adopt the son of a father killed by his hands; Odin adopted Loki into his own family, raising Loki like a son along with his biological son, Thor.

In childhood Loki greatly resented the fact that Odin and the other Asgardians favored the young Thor, who already had a nobility of spirit and excelled in all his endeavors. As a boy Loki began studying the arts of sorcery, for which he had a natural affinity. He became infamous for his mischievousness, but secretly resented Thor and the love that Odin lavished upon him. When Odin was preparing his greatest gift for Thor, the enchanted hammer Mjolnir, Loki interfered with its creation, causing its handle to be forged too short. Loki was envious that Thor would one day wield Mjolnir, and over the years repeatedly crafted schemes to make Mjolnir’s power his own.

When Loki and Thor were still young, Thor was attracted to the swordmaiden Sif, who had beautiful gold-colored hair. Loki cut off her hair while she slept, but Thor guessed that Loki was responsible and demanded that he restore it. Loki enlisted the dwarves Brokk and Eitri to forge new hair for her, but as he did not pay them anything, they decided to craft the hair from nothing, making black hair from the night itself. However, Thor still loved Sif, even without her golden hair.

Thor and Loki occasionally adventured together as teenagers, though the competitive Loki always searched for an advantage over his brother. In his youth, he was more apt to aid his Asgardian family. When Loki learned that the sorceress Karnilla (queen of the magical beings called the Norns) was planning an attack on Asgard, he refused an offer to join her and instead alerted his fellow Asgardians to her scheme. Later on, Loki and Karnilla became occasional allies, although her love for the Asgardian Balder (an enemy of Loki) prevented her from aiding Loki in any way that would hurt her beloved.

As Loki matured into a young man, his antics became more and more pronounced, until Odin finally sent him to jail to learn from his actions. Fed up with Asgard, Loki used his magic to escape his cell, and eventually met Eldred the sorcerer, who increased his training in the black arts. Finally, Loki confronted the 1000-foot tall fire demon Surtur, enemy of the gods from the one of the nine realms of Asgard called Muspelheim, and offered him Eldred’s soul in exchange for power. Surtur accepted, and Loki assumed ownership of Eldred’s lands and minions. His foray into the black arts earned him the title of “god of evil” among the Asgardians, and he forged alliances with many of the realm’s enemies. Loki mated with the goddess Angerboda, who bore him the monstrous offspring Jormungand (the Midgard Serpent) and the Fenris Wolf, as well as Hela, the goddess of death. Loki also tricked the goddess Sigyn into marrying him by posing as her true love, Theoric.
Loki eventually learned of the prophecies of Ragnarok, a cataclysmic event in which he was fated to bring about Asgard’s ruin by slaying Balder, then leading the enemies of Asgard into final battle. Loki ultimately embraced this destiny, and sought the means to bring about Ragnarok on more than one occasion. However, Loki usually crafted his schemes so subtly that Odin and Thor could rarely justify punishing him, and Loki would continue to live in their midst, awaiting his next opportunity.

In recent years, Loki finally obtained an advantage over his half-brother when Odin sentenced Thor to Earth in the guise of Dr. Donald Blake, a medical practitioner who would transform into Thor using Mjolnir. Loki sought victory over his brother by exploiting Blake’s human weakness, and employed many pawns against him on Earth, including Jinku the Lava Man, the Weather Maker, Sandu, Amora the Enchantress, Skurge the Executioner, Skagg, Surtur, Cobra (Klaus Voorhees), Mr. Hyde, the Absorbing Man, and the Super-Skrull (Kl’rt). In one attempt to trick Thor into battling the monstrous Hulk (Bruce Banner), Loki diverted a distress call intended for the Fantastic Four to Dr. Blake’s office, but it was also intercepted by the Wasp, Yellowjacket (Henry Pym), and the armored adventurer Iron Man (Tony Stark). When the four heroes learned of Loki’s involvement and banded together with the Hulk to defeat him, they decided to form a team of heroes to face future threats, calling themselves the Avengers. Loki long regretted having caused their formation.

SuperPowers:

Superhuman Strength: Loki possesses superhuman strength that is substantially superior to that of an average Asgardian female or male.

Superhuman Stamina: Loki's Frost Giant metabolism grants him superhuman levels of physical stamina in practically all activities. He can exert himself at peak capacity for about 24 hours before fatigue begins to impair him. However, much like his physical strength and durability, Loki can temporarily augment his stamina through magical means.

Superhuman Durability: The tissues of Loki's body are superhumanly durable and are roughly equal to those possessed by the average Asgardian male. However, at times, Loki had imbued himself with magical abilities that enable him to withstand injuries that would prove fatal to another Asgardian. He is able to withstand high caliber bullets, falls from great heights, powerful impact forces, exposure to temperature extremes and powerful energy blasts without being injured.

Superhuman Longevity: Like all Asgardians, Loki ages at a far slower rate than humans. However, unlike some other god pantheons like the Olympians, who stop aging completely at a certain point, Loki isn't fully immune to aging.

Sorcery: Loki has the ability to generate and control a great quantity of mystical abilities for a variety of purposes. His known abilities include the ability to fire powerful beams of concussive force, generate highly durable force fields, bestow superhuman attributes to living beings or inanimate objects, teleport across dimensions and augment his physical attributes temporarily. He can also bring inanimate objects to life, or mystically imbue objects or beings with specific but temporary powers. He has, for example, augmented the might of human criminals as the Cobra and Sandu. These magical effects remain only for as long as he maintains the spell that created them. Loki’s power has been said by the Silver Surfer during their early encounters as sufficient to “decimate a planet,” and according to Dormammu, Loki’s magic nearly rivals that of his own.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Like all Asgardians, Loki is still capable of being injured though, also like all Asgardians, his metabolism enables him to rapidly regenerate damaged tissue much faster and more extensively than a human being. However, through the use of his sorcery, Loki's ability to heal himself is far above that of other Asgardians. His magical energies are so imbued into his body that he can reattach severed limbs and even reattached his own head at least once.

Psionics: Loki has demonstrated powerful psionic capabilities, the full limits of which aren't known. He has demonstrated the ability to project his thoughts telepathically across great distances as well as potent hypnotic capabilities. He is able to communicate with beings telepathically, though his ability to do so is greater with beings that serve him.

Shape-shifting: Like a number of gods or goddesses, Loki possesses highly developed shape-shifting capabilities. He is able to adopt almost any form imaginable whether it be animals, other humanoid beings, or even inanimate objects. The thought has been raised that his current form is merely a shape Loki has decided to remain in. Despite this well-known ability of Loki's, he has commented to himself, as he struggled to escape from Dormammu's mystic cage, that this is his "most soul-draining" power, apparently meaning it is more taxing than his other magical abilities. He has become such animals such as a snake, eagle, mouse and bee, gaining the basic natural abilities inherent in each form. While he can take on the likeness of another god, giant or human, he will not necessarily gain the special physical or mental powers of the being he imitates. Loki can also transform external objects into other forms and substances by magic; for instance, he has turned clouds into dragons.

Loki was sitting at his golden throne at the center room of his palace in his current home. He was alone for the time being in a room with a control panel and an abyss below it leading into a dark Pit. He stood up off of his throne, walking over to a table in the middle, a smirk on his face as he made a green energy ball in his hand, looking to the table, it had a large see through ball on it, to which he shot his energy at, the ball absorbing the energy and projecting earth, specifically america in California, putting his hand up and scrolling through the land, "I feel like having some fun with the pathetic humans, lets see how they feel when this lousy authority figure starts going nuts..." He spoke in such a sinister voice, his eyes viewing a police officer whom seemed to be on break in a public area.

Loki chuckled a bit, lifting his hand and pointing his palm towards the police officer, his eyes glowing a bright green as the police officer would freeze, his eyes glowing green as well, and would mimic anything Loki says, and move as Loki wishes him to. Loki moved him in such a way to pull out his gun, pointing it towards a female, only to have the people around begin to scream and run in panic, the woman he was pointing at froze with fear and Loki loved every minute of it, "Hahahaha! Look at all the humans squirm, they fear this police officer only because of his metal firing weapon, how foolish, they don't have any idea the dangers of Gods..." His voice projected through the officer, people looking confused at his words, "Kneel now female!" He commanded through the police officer, the female getting down on her knees before him, hoping he would not shoot, Loki wasn't going to shoot her, but he wanted to see how long it would take for the heroes to arrive, sure enough it didn't take long.

After moving the sphere to look at the area, he noticed heroes approaching, to which he responded by releasing his grip on the mind of the police officer, causing him to fall to the ground, his eyes returning to normal and Loki getting away easily as usual, walking over to the window at the end of the room, looking out at the planet he was hiding at, it was rather impressive, but not what he wanted, he wanted Asgard, his blood boiled for Asgard, and he wouldn't accept anything less then Asgard, "Those lousy heroes think they can protect earth, I could of wiped out 100 humans in the time it took them to get there... how pathetic... but I don't want to kill them.. I want to rule them... It is just so pathetic of them to think they can stop the great Loki... THE RIGHTFUL HEIR TO THE THRONE OF ASGARD!" He shouted out into the ceiling, but stopped and calmed himself, looking back at a minion of his, gritting his teeth and firing a blast of energy at him, frying him completely as he headed back to his throne.

Loki sat back on his throne, resting his cheek on his fist which was coiled with elbow rested on the arm rest, looking at the sphere to see the heroes helping them calm down and trying to figure it out, "Hmph... The disgusting part... Is that they will never know it was me, I could of killed that many... and they wouldn't even know who did it... Pathetic..." He stated, smacking his staff on the ground in slight anger, he closed his eyes and tried to relax, "Asgard... will be mine... and Thor... he will die..." He spoke in a vow.
